ARBOR Launches an 8-inch Tablet POS with Dual-OS Platform

ARBOR Technology, a leading provider of embedded computing solutions, is pleased to announce the availability of the ARBOR Gladius G0830, a versatile point-of-sales system solution combining the advantage of both mobile and fixed POS. Thanks to its ergonomic design, market-driven configuration and extensive connectivity for communication and peripheral devices, the ARBOR G0830 tablet POS is a perfect fit for retail, warehousing and hospitality, managing several key tasks such as inventory management, payment processing, customer data gathering and staff tracking.
The G0830 is multifunctional and easy to use, enabling quick deployment into applications. The Gladius G0830 is powered by the Intel® Atom™ x5-Z8350 processor which is a power efficient, quad-core SoC for Windows and Android devices. Thus, the G0830 is a sophisticated dual-OS platform to support both Windows-dominated markets and emerging Android markets.
The G0830 tablet has an 8 inch 10 point multi touch screen, weighs less than 600g and has a hand strap attached at the back, making it easily carried by one hand. Designed as a mobile POS solution, the tablet comes with all the necessary features and connectivity including WLAN, Bluetooth, NFC and 1D/2D barcode scanner. LTE WWAN and GPS can be added as options. In addition, the tablet has a 64GB of eMMC flash storage and is extendable via Micro SD Card.
The tablet POS couples with a desktop cradle which provides rich I/O ports for expansions: three USB 2.0 ports (OTG support), one HDMI and RJ-45 LAN port. NFC, MSR and Smart Card Reader support payment processing, and to restrict access to sensitive financial backend data. Together with the cradle, the G0830 works as a comprehensive desktop POS but only required a small space without extra setup. The cradle dock can tilt from 15 to 45 degrees for better viewing angle depending on the users.
Part of the POS solution is a piston grip. It has a built-in 8000mAh power bank for longer operation, and a power status LED visual reference. There is a physical barcode trigger on top side. This piston grip can double as a convenient handheld barcode scanner when putting it on the tablet.
The G0830 has been selected for the Taiwan Excellence Award 2017, Computex Best Choice Award 2016 in smart retail category in Taipei, and also wins the Mobility for Business Award 2016 for the best terminal innovation in Paris.

ARBOR Introduces the Gladius G1052C, an Upgraded 10.4” Rugged Tablet with Intel® Celeron® Processor

has launched the ARBOR Gladius G1052C 10.4 inch rugged tablet PC to complement its growing lineup of mPOS, warehousing and logistics tablet PCs. The G1052C, powered by an Intel® Celeron® N2930 quad-core processor, is an upgrade to the previous G1050 version in performance and specification improvements. Based on the Intel Bay Trail platform, the product gives improved CPU performance, outstanding graphic processing and ultra low power consumption.

The fanless, lightweight, yet sturdy G1052C has a 10-point projected capacitive touch screen with Corning® Gorilla Glass. In addition to the large touch operation interface, the G1052C has a 23-key physical keypad that includes four programmable function buttons for rapid manual data entry. In addition, the 10.4’’ AFFS+ TFT Active Matrix display with 1024 x 768 XGA resolutions offers a better visual experience. If needed, the G1052CS comes in a sunlight-viewable version with an 800 nit backlight.

The new tablet includes a variety of data collection and identification technologies and modules. The G1052C comes with an integrated 1D/2D barcode scanner, an ISO 15693/14443A/14443B RFID/NFC reader, magnetic stripe reader (MSR), as well as a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera. The product’s multiple wireless communications, includes WiFi, Bluetooth™, WLAN, WWAN and GPS, facilitating real-time data transfer and processing.

As a fully rugged device, the G1052C meets MIL-STD-810G military standards, offers IP54 ingress protection, and an impressive 4 ft. drop resistance. With its solid rubber bumpers, the tablet provides maximum impact protection for any deployment. Thanks to its hot-swappable dual battery packs and long 8-hour battery life, the G1052C never needs to be powered down on the job.

The G1052C is available with various Windows 7 and 8 and 8.1 OS platform versions, and is equipped with a hand strap on the back side.

ARBOR Technology, a leading provider of embedded computing solutions, added the Gladius 8, a 7.85-inch fully rugged IoT handheld device to its Gladius Android-based line. The Gladius 8 joins the Gladius 5, a 5.5” handheld launched in 2014. The device is powered by an MTK Quad-core CortexTM A7 processor and runs Android v4.4 operating system. Build in multiple connectivity options and the robust design with waterproof, dustproof and drop resistance, the unit is ideal for highly mobile applications, such as logistics, warehousing, mPOS and fleet.

The Gladius 8 is a specially designed tool for true industrial mobility. It features multiple wireless communications such as WWAN, WLAN and Bluetooth, that allows users easy access to information anytime, anywhere. In addition, its long battery life of up to 10 hours is compatible to supporting a full days work. Battery life can be extended even more when coupled with our desktop/vehicle mount wireless chargers.

The durability is another characteristic of the Gladius 8. It is fully ruggedized, with an IP65 rating, MIL-STD-810G standard, 1.2m(4ft.) drop resistance, advanced sealing, and high-temperature tolerance (-20~60℃). The unit adopts Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 which is renowned for its exceptional damage resistance, making it durable for outdoor field use, while enhancing work efficiency and quality.

As a versatile unit, the Gladius 8 has a wide range of functions to meet customer’s needs. It has the integrated 1D barcode reader with physical trigger button, and a 1D/2D barcode imager for flexible option. The rich I/O interfaces include an HDMI port and dual SIM sockets for expansion.
